AI-based application for predictive power plant control for the production of synthetic fuels

- Aim: The innovative bioliq® process (Biomass-to-Liquid) can be controlled through AI-applications with EDI's hybrid models. As a result, there is no need for the plant operator to know the complex simulation models to control the plant in their energy and resource optimum.
- Benefit: Increase of the process output of second generation synthetic fuels (including kerosene, diesel and petrol) up to 10 %, with variable biomass in the pilot plant. So the promising process developed at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) contributes to sustainable and environmentally friendly mobility. Furthermore, the generic AI-based hybrid models can be adapted to other thermo-chemical processes whereby in the future SMEs can also optimize and control their processes cost-effectively.
